Our language school is located in Annaberg-Buchholz. The city is part of the district and also the administrative centre of the „Erzgebirgskreis“. As a historical silver mining city, located in the saxon Ore Mountains, Annaberg-Buchholz is well-known for its‘ landscape, history and culture. The surrounding mountains and the montane landscape around Annaberg-Buchholz have been part of the UNESCO World heritage „Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří Mining Region“ since 2019. Its‘ history goes back past 1491 and with the cultural imprint of more than 500 years, the historic buildings and sights of the town tell the glorious past of this region. While wandering around the centre of Annaberg-Buchholz, one can get to know this history first-hand for example by visiting St. Anne’s Church, which is one of the best-known late Gothic examples of architecture in Saxony. The church depicts not just the structurally engineered characteristics of the time, but reflects the changes of the entire city.

Today, Annaberg-Buchholz is a touristic and economic centre of the region. The inhabitants live a prosperous life in a solid community. Annaberg-Buchholz is a beautiful place to live, especially while studying a new language.

The language school „Neue Sprachenschule Annaberg International“ is located not far from the city centre and the public transportation as well as the regional connections are well developed to offer the students a lot of travel opportunities. They can explore the city Annaberg-Buchholz and also travel to the nearby large cities Chemnitz, Leipzig or Dresden. Even the German capital Berlin can be reached by car in under 4 hours. In addition, several events take place during the year, such as the well-known Christmas market or the annual fair „Annaberger KÄT“, the largest fair in Saxony with its’ 500 year history.
